Rogelio Ruiz is a Personal Injury Attorney at the Law Offices of Oscar H. Gutierrez. Rogelio was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley and is the son of Mexican immigrants.
He earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in Political Science from California State University, Northridge. After receiving his bachelor’s degree, Rogelio pursued his legal education at Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. During his time at Loyola Law School, Rogelio proved to be a natural leader on campus. While at Loyola Law School, Rogelio was President of La Raza De Loyola and
received First Honors in his Trial Advocacy course.
Rogelio’s practice focuses on auto accidents, trip and falls, as well as spine and brain injuries. At the Law Offices of Oscar H. Gutierrez, Rogelio participates in all phases of litigation and has contributed to multiple six-figure settlements. Rogelio strongly believes that to properly represent his clients, he must not only understand the substantive law, but also have a strong grasp of civil procedure, the body, and how injuries are caused. All of which, he strives to master every day.

Professional Involvement and Leadership
Oscar Rene remains involved in several professional organizations in southern California.
He currently serves as Treasurer for the Mexican American Bar Association of Los Angeles County. This will be his third year on the MABA Board of Trustees, where he is part of the both the Judicial Endorsement and Political Endorsement Committees. Oscar Rene regularly organizes and participates in complimentary community legal fairs, providing legal assistance and services to low-income and immigrant communities throughout Los Angeles County.
Oscar Rene also serves as Co-Chair of the Membership Committee for the Litigation Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA). At LACBA, Oscar is also a member of the Committee on Adequate State Court Funding.
Oscar Rene is a proud member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA). He regularly participates in CAALA-sponsored workshops, seminars, and classes to stay current with changes in law and procedure and to improve his trial and advocacy skills.
He also serves on the board for the Latino Alumni Society of Loyola High School of Los Angeles.

Oscar Rene is the son of Mexican immigrants from Guadalajara and La Barca, Jalisco. He is completely fluent in both English and Spanish.Education:
Oscar Rene attended Loyola High School of Los Angeles. He graduated in 2002, with honors.
After graduating from Loyola High School, he attended the University of Southern California (USC) where he graduated in 2006 with degrees in Communication and Chicano Studies, cum laude. He also obtained an academic minor in Spanish. While at USC, Oscar Rene was named to the Dean’s List on eight separate occasions. He was a member of the following honors societies: Blackstonians Pre-Law Honor Society, the Latino Honor Society, and Lambda Pi Eta – the official honor society of the National Communication Association. Oscar Rene was also recognized as a finalist for the 2006 Hubbard Award by the Mexican American Alumni Association and was named a Renaissance Scholar upon graduation. Apart from his studies, he also successfully completed internships at the Mexican-American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF) as well as the National Association of Latino and Elected Appointed Officials (NALEO). In the summer of 2005, Oscar Rene was selected to work at the American Chamber of Commerce in Mexico City, where he worked on creating and editing content for Business Mexico magazine.
After USC, Oscar Rene then enrolled at Pepperdine University School of Law as a Diversity Scholar. While at Pepperdine, he served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Ronald S.W. Lew, United States District Court Judge for the Central District of California in the summer of 2008. He also completed two separate externships at the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office – working in both the Hardcore Gang and Family Violence Units. In the fall of 2008, he participated in Pepperdine Law’s International Moot Court Competition in London, England, where he mooted against prospective barristers at the Royal Courts of Justice. Additionally, Oscar Rene was part of a two-person team that received the award for Best Respondent’s Brief at Pepperdine Law School’s 2010 Dalsimer Moot Court Competition. Oscar Rene also served as the Legal Summaries Editor for Pepperdine’s administrative law journal, the National Association of Administrative Law Judiciary, where he was twice published for his Legal Summaries.
From 2009-2010, he served as the MABA Student Vice Chair for Pepperdine and as the President of the Latin American Law Student Association (LALSA).
